Blackbrook Farm
Deep Roots in Local Food
Blackbrook Farm is a family-run, Certified Organic farm led by James and Ayla Dodge, who are entering a new chapter after 13 years of Community Supported Agriculture. In 2024, they shifted their focus toward building soil health across their 140-acre farm, using rotationally grazed animals as a key part of the farm’s ecosystem. Today, Blackbrook Farm continues to grow Certified Organic vegetables for their online farm store, local restaurants, and food co-ops, while also raising grass-fed Scottish Highland cattle, heritage-breed hogs, broiler chickens, and turkeys on pasture.

Meet Your Farmers
Blackbrook Farm is co-owned and run by James and Ayla Dodge, who began farming after years of hands-on experience with organic vegetable farms, small-scale farming, and local food systems. Together, they bring deep roots in farming, homesteading, carpentry, food co-ops, and community-centered agriculture to the farm they started in 2012. Today, they are raising their three children while continuing their shared work of growing healthy, nutritious food for the families and community around them.

We share a desire to improve this small piece of land for our children but also to raise healthy and nutritious food on it for the many people and families it has fed over the years.
